We have been really keen to support pre-school aged children with additional needs during this difficult year. Thomas’s Fund has really enjoyed providing online weekly Music Therapy sessions, in partnership with Rowan Gate Primary School and Kingsley Special Academy, to support their pre-school groups (enabling children to have a social experience, prior to starting school, and parents an opportunity to meet others and to have connection with the schools they hope their children will attend in the future). This has been made possible with the kind support of the Lottery Coronavirus Community Support Fund.
For various children we have seen an increase in confidence; ability to make choices and with the use of eye contact and signing. We’ve also had siblings participating and a pet cat join in with various action songs!
