Jonny completed the Jungfrau Marathon in Bern, Switzerland on September 13, raising money for Thomas’s Fund. It’s an uphill marathon, so quite an achievement, especially as it was Jonny’s first ever marathon! He completed it in 5h 24mins. He told us, “The first part is ‘relatively’ flat and I was through 25km in just under two hours. Then the climbing starts: first 4km up to the village of Wengen from Lauterbrunnen (795m – 1250m), which I reached in 3h 15mins. I reached the finish at 5h 24mins having climbed to 2,200 metres. Most people I spoke to thought I was very brave or mad to do the Jungfrau as my first. Thanks very much for the sponsorship. Lou and mother and the locals cheered me on which was much appreciated.”
