On Monday 14 May, intrepid co-founder Lucy with her friend Helen and a team from Weston Favell Shopping Centre embarked on a 100-mile walk along the Grand Union Canal from RDI headquarters (landlord of Weston Favell Shopping Centre) in Piccadilly in London, all the way to the Centre.
They met Northampton MP Michael Ellis the day before the walk and set off at 9am on Tuesday. They walked – or “wobbled” – for five days, their longest stretch being 25.5 miles and the shortest 15.5 miles. Many of the staff from the shopping centre were involved, either walking out or driving the support vehicle, kindly donated for the week by Country Lion Coaches.
We would like to thank all the sponsors and Kevin Legg and his team at Weston Favell Shopping Centre.

“Starting on Tuesday, 15 May 2018 staff at the Weston Favell Shopping Centre along with other volunteers walked 100 miles over five days from London to Northampton for charity. The “Grand Weston Wobble Part II” will raise thousands of pounds for Thomas’s Fund, a wonderful charity which helps young people with life-limiting illnesses and disabilities through music therapy. I have visited this charity before and the work that they do is so important in helping the lives of the children they work with.
“I commend all participants for going on such an impressive walk to raise money for a fantastic cause. I had the pleasure of meeting the participants at the Houses of Parliament to wish them luck for their long walk.”
